A 340 bed regional medical center in Overland Park, KS — Johnson County's only Level II Trauma Center, with an Accredited Stroke and Chest Pain Center, a Level III NICU, and a dedicated Maternal Fetal Health Center — is seeking an Administrative Director of Surgical Services. The surgical services program includes 11 operating rooms, with construction underway to expand to 13 ORs, and performs 450–500 surgeries per month across cardiovascular, orthopedic, neuro spine, general, GYN, urology, and vascular specialties.
The role. Reporting directly to the hospital COO, the Administrative Director of Surgical Services leads a team of 75 FTEs through three direct-report managers overseeing the OR, Sterile Processing, and Perioperative services (pre-op, PACU, GI, and PAT). The director is responsible for the overall operational and clinical leadership of surgical services, including volume forecasting, staffing, and budget management — monitoring department performance, identifying variances, and implementing corrective actions to address gaps. A core focus of the role is cultivating evidence-based clinical practice to advance patient safety and quality outcomes, while managing variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency and cost. The director collaborates with the administrative team and physicians to enhance existing service lines and identify opportunities for new service development, and fosters interdisciplinary communication and accountability across departments to ensure patient care needs are consistently met.
What we're looking for.

- Master's Degree preferred
- 2 years of previous Director of Surgical Services experience required
- 3 years of previous applicable experience in acute care Surgical Services required
Schedule. Full time, days, no weekends.
Compensation. $132,787 - $199,180 per year plus Relocation: Case by Case Basis Incentive Bonus of 17.5%
