The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and supporting volunteers who provide compassionate services to hospice patients, families, and the organization. This role ensures compliance with hospice volunteer regulations while fostering a meaningful volunteer experience that enhances patient care and supports All Care Hospice’s mission.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30-4:30pm

Work Location: Lynn, MA

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain qualified hospice volunteers.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate volunteer orientation and ongoing education programs.
  • Assess volunteer needs with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary hospice team, and match volunteers appropriately.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate volunteers to ensure quality service and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer personnel files, documentation, and monthly program statistics.
  • Coordinate volunteer meetings, recognition activities, and educational events.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to integrate volunteers into patient care and organizational initiatives.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and support agency performance goals.
  • Attend hospice and community events to promote volunteer engagement and community awareness.
  • Help ensure the hospice volunteer program exceeds Medicare volunteer hour requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in Human Services, Social Work, Health Care Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in health care, volunteer management, or a related setting.
  • Hospice experience and volunteer program experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and accurate records.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
