Salary Range: $80,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning, execution, and completion of hurricane protection projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the company’s high-quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional project management capabilities, coupled with a deep technical understanding of hurricane protection systems, including impact-resistant windows, doors, shutters, and screens. Additionally, the Project Manager will exhibit strong leadership skills, effectively managing teams, motivating staff, and ensuring seamless communication among all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and estimators. The ability to delegate tasks efficiently and resolve conflicts is essential to maintaining project momentum and ensuring successful outcomes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee job sites for contractor success.
  • Responsible for organization of end-to-end Installations to ensure readiness and completion.
  • Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules.
  • Liaison between clients, departments and field contractors.
  • Oversee quality control in field.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for each assigned hurricane protection project, ensuring all deliverables are achieved on time and within financial parameters.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure clear and consistent communication regarding project progress, expectations, and any issues that may arise.
  • Team Management: Lead and coordinate with project teams, including field staff, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to project timelines, costs, and quality. Address any challenges or obstacles promptly to maintain project momentum.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all projects adhere to the highest standards of safety and quality, in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements for hurricane protection.
  • Budget & Cost Management: Track project budgets, manage costs, and ensure efficient use of resources to maximize profitability while maintaining quality.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare regular project updates for senior management and clients.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project reviews to assess the success of the project, identify lessons learned, and ensure that improvements are made for future projects.
  • Final Measures: Schedule and complete final measures with homeowner present to ensure sizes and styles are accurately captured for ordering purposes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Ability to create detailed project plans and schedules using software like MS Project or Procore. Ensures milestones, deadlines, and tasks are completed on time.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management: Expertise in estimating costs, managing budgets, tracking expenses, and finding ways to keep projects within budget without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions or delays.
  • Resource Allocation: Skill in effectively allocating resources (labor, materials, equipment) to avoid delays and maximize efficiency.
  • Contract Management: Understanding of how to create and manage contracts with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of hurricane protection systems, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Construction Knowledge: A deep understanding of construction processes, techniques, building codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Blueprint & Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings to ensure projects are completed according to specifications.
  • Quality Control: Knowledge of quality standards and inspection procedures to ensure the final product meets all safety and quality benchmarks.
  • Technology & Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project) and other construction-related technologies (e.g., BIM, cost estimation software).
  • Knowledge of Legal & Regulatory Requirements: Familiarity with zoning laws, permits, and construction codes relevant to the project’s location.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Client Liaison: Skilled at managing client relationships, providing updates, discussing progress, and addressing concerns.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and present project updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Critical Thinking: Ability to assess situations quickly, identify potential problems, and come up with effective solutions to keep projects moving forward.
  • Attention to Detail: Focus on identifying potential issues before they become problems, ensuring that quality, safety, and budgetary standards are consistently met.
  • Financial Acumen: Cost Control: Skilled in managing project budgets and financial resources to avoid overruns and ensure profitability.
  • Contract Negotiation: Ability to negotiate favorable terms with contractors, suppliers, and clients, ensuring that all aspects of the project are financially sound.
  • Time Management: Deadline-Oriented: Ability to meet tight deadlines, coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain focus under pressure.
  • Prioritization: Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to ensure timely project completion.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust plans and strategies in response to unexpected changes or challenges in the project.
  • Stress Management: Ability to handle stressful situations and manage the pressure of meeting deadlines and managing large teams.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to work with various departments, stakeholders, and teams to ensure all parts of the project are aligned and progressing.
  • Building Relationships: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers for future collaboration.
  • Current Trends & Innovations: Staying up to date with the latest construction industry trends, materials, techniques, and technologies that can improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
  • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or equivalent are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
