A premier global law firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising public and private companies, private equity sponsors, investment funds, real estate investors, REITs, and multinational businesses on sophisticated transactional tax matters.

Ideal Background

• 3–4 years of transactional tax experience (J.D. Class 2022–2023) gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience advising clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings, financings, and capital markets transactions

• Experience representing public companies, private companies, private equity sponsors, investment funds, real estate investors, REITs, and institutional clients

• Experience advising on the tax implications of partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), joint ventures, private equity fund formations, and real estate fund formations

• Experience analyzing and structuring corporate, partnership, and real estate transactions to achieve tax-efficient outcomes

• Experience drafting and negotiating tax provisions in purchase agreements, financing documents, partnership agreements, operating agreements, and other transactional documents

• Experience researching and advising on complex federal, state, and local tax issues affecting sophisticated business transactions

• Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated tax matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

• LL.M. in Taxation is a plus but not required

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

• New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
