Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly organized Front Office Coordinator to join our team at Align Alabama Health & Wellness. This role is the first point of contact for many of our patients and plays a key part in keeping the front office, schedule, insurance verification, and daily patient flow running smoothly.
The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare office experience, strong customer service skills, and hands-on experience with insurance verification. Experience with medical or chiropractic billing is a strong plus.

Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
- Manage incoming phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and manage patient appointments
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Coordinate new patient intake and review paperwork for completeness
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and returning patients
- Confirm and document deductibles, copays, coinsurance, visit limits, and authorization requirements
- Utilize insurance payer portals to obtain and document benefit information
- Communicate insurance benefits and patient financial responsibilities clearly and professionally
- Identify insurance issues, missing information, or authorization needs prior to patient visits when possible
- Collect copays, balances, care plan payments, and other patient payments
- Post payments accurately and assist with daily closeout procedures
- Assist with billing-related tasks, claim follow-up, EOBs/ERAs, denials, or accounts receivable as assigned and based on experience
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in the EHR
- Scan, upload, and organize patient documents in the appropriate records
- Monitor the daily schedule and help keep patient flow moving efficiently
- Follow up on cancellations, no-shows, reschedules, recalls, and patient communication as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment
- Cross-train with other team members to ensure consistent office coverage
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements at all times
- Take initiative with outstanding tasks and assist with additional administrative responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical, chiropractic, dental, physical therapy, or other healthcare office strongly preferred
- Experience with insurance verification
- Ability to verify eligibility, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, visit limits, and authorization requirements
- Medical or chiropractic billing experience is highly desirable
- Experience with claims, EOBs/ERAs, denials, authorizations, or accounts receivable is a plus
- Experience using an EHR or practice management system
- ChiroTouch or ChiroTouch Cloud experience is a plus
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, professional phone etiquette, and excellent customer service
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent attendance and demonstrated dependability
- Punctual, professional, and accountable
- Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant supervision
