As Alibaba Cloud Project Engineering - AMER Region, You Will Be The Key Technical And Engineering Subject Matter Expert For The AMER Market. Your Main Job Scope Including

Colocation technical site selection:

• Technical site selection and due diligence, identify site risks, benchmark against Alibaba Clould site selection standard, review design and equipment submittals;
• Responsible for the site specific design and fitout solutions based on Alibaba Cloud's technical standard;
• Liaise with internal server team, network team, security team and EHS team to address their domain specific requirement;
• Support lease contract and service level agreement negotiations, provide technical reviews of the contractual terms;
  
  

Project Technical Management

• Join project meetings, responsible for all technical questions and coordinations for the AMER regional projects;
• Review, comment and improve the commissioning scripts; witness the project commissioning and follow up on all critical issues identified during the T&C process;
• Accept the colocation site based on Alibaba Cloud's acceptance criteria and support turnover to the operation team;
• Technical support of full colocation site life-cycle management. Support project team to retire the colocation site and restore the facility to its original status;
  
  

Operation technical support

• Own the design and as-built drawings of the regional colocation site;
• Technical support, post incident investigation, and make corrective action documentation together with the operation team;
• Manage existing site upgrade and retrofit projects to mitigate risks or to increase operational efficiency;The workplace is based in the Sunnyvale office in California, and the target level is P7.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
• Minimum 3 years of experiences with the design, construction, operation or commissioning of the colocation infrastructure;
• Strong in communication skills and able to liaise with internal stakeholders and negotiate with external vendors;
• Familiar with the regional building codes and permits; Registered Professional mechanical or electrical engineer is a plus;
• Willing to work on regionally projects and travel for up to 30% of the time;
• Fluent in English, Chinese is a plus;
  
  

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $156,000 and $256,800/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
