What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef de Cuisine position at Alexxa's?
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the lifestyle of the food and beverage industry on the Las Vegas Strip, its culinary arts scene, along with possessing strong leadership skills, and have a proven track record in upscale food service management.
The position cohesively and jointly works with the Executive Chef, General Manager, and primarily with and for our guests.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable with driving menu rollouts for our high volume, fine/casual dining restaurant in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Corporate Chef. Experience with private events and banquets is a requirement. Extremely high-quality food served in very high-volume number venue with the goal of establishing return guest visits and profitably. This chef must continuously seek to improve the food quality, attention to detail without compromising the integrity of the product. This person is someone who trains, mentors and drives their team to perform better each and every day to deliver the best form of wholesome food for our guests.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, independent decision making, excellent collaboration skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intense and volume driven environment. They will have experience managing food and labor cost while building a team and working cohesively with the dining operations team. They will be able to multitask, drive quality, work at a fast pace, and complete a variety of tasks with a sense of urgency while mentoring the team. The ideal candidate will be approachable, have a positive mental outlook, and in general foster a positive work environment at all times.
Duties:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production and service
- Develop and maintain standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality
- Manage cost control and waste reduction strategies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with management to stay in the now to create innovative menus that meet customer expectations
Skills:
- Culinary expertise with a focus on refined casual dining, casual dining and Banquets
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage and mentor kitchen staff
- Experience in food service management and inventory control
- Proficient in cooking techniques and kitchen operations
- Experience preferably with using Agilysis, Eatec, Avero and proficiency with Excel is highly preferred
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
