Systems Engineer

Alexander Technology Group is seeking a Systems Engineer for our Boston area client. The Systems Engineer will be tasked with client integrations, project management, network monitoring and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operations for technical systems, tools, and power plant integrations
• Support RTU infrastructure within a data center environment
• Manage network configurations and integrations for new renewable assets
• Assist with commissioning and controls testing of new assets
• Monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity and system alerts
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
• Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory grid requirements
• Deliver high-quality operational and customer support
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–5 years of experience in technical systems or operations
• Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, hardware/software troubleshooting)
• SQL query and reporting experience
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog, SolarWinds)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Linux or Windows command line proficiency
• Knowledge of industrial protocols (MODBUS, ICCP, DNP3)
• Experience in the energy or electric power industry
• Process improvement experience
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
