We are partnering with a New York–based investment firm specializing in flexible hybrid capital solutions for middle-market companies. The firm operates at the intersection of private credit and private equity, structuring tailored investments such as structured debt and preferred equity for founder-led businesses, family-owned companies, and sponsor-backed platforms navigating complex or transitional situations.
The team is seeking a Senior Associate – Structured / Hybrid Capital (Restructuring Background Required) to join its NYC office.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in investment banking (Restructuring / Special Situations strongly preferred) AND private credit / private equity with restructuring exposure
- Strong financial modeling skills, including restructuring and scenario analysis
- Familiarity with complex capital structures, distressed situations, or transitional capital solutions
- Experience evaluating downside protection and structuring flexible investment instruments
- Strong academic background in finance, economics, or related field
- Excellent analytical, communication, and execution skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, senior-led, entrepreneurial environment
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and execute structured and hybrid capital investments across middle-market companies
- Build and analyze complex financial models, including downside cases and restructuring scenarios
- Support structuring of preferred equity, mezzanine, and bespoke debt solutions
- Conduct deep due diligence across financial, operational, and legal aspects of transactions
- Work closely with senior team members on investment committee materials and presentations
- Monitor portfolio company performance and support restructuring or recapitalization initiatives where needed
- Engage with founders, management teams, sponsors, and advisors throughout the deal lifecycle
