Senior Associate / Vice President – Business Development & Asset Management

A leading retail real estate investment, development, and operating platform is looking to add a Senior Associate / Vice President to its Business Development & Asset Management team in Phoenix.
This is a highly visible opportunity working directly alongside senior leadership across acquisitions, development, leasing, asset management, and business development initiatives. The role is ideal for someone with a strong retail real estate background who combines operational expertise with a highly polished, relationship-driven personality.
The team is seeking an individual who understands how shopping centers operate from both a strategic and hands-on perspective - someone who can manage relationships, oversee portfolio performance, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and help drive business development initiatives across the platform
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, brokers, tenants, and operating partners
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating new retail investment and development opportunities
- Work closely with leadership on strategic growth initiatives and portfolio expansion
- Partner with regional asset management and property management teams across the existing portfolio
- Analyze property and portfolio performance metrics, leasing activity, tenant health, and operational trends
- Collaborate with leasing teams to understand tenant strategy, occupancy trends, and shopping center performance
- Participate in transaction execution, negotiations, and ongoing asset strategy discussions
- Help elevate and expand the firm’s business development capabilities across Western U.S. markets
Ideal Background
- 4–10 years of experience within retail real estate, asset management, property management, leasing, investments, or business development
- Strong understanding of shopping center operations and retail asset performance metrics
- Prior experience working with retail portfolios, acquisitions, or development projects preferred
- Exposure to institutional real estate platforms, investment managers, REITs, or private equity real estate firms is highly attractive
- Candidates from owner/operators, asset managers, or institutional platforms are encouraged to apply
