About the Opportunity
A consumer-focused private equity firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in San Francisco. The firm partners with high-growth consumer brands and businesses across a variety of categories, helping management teams accelerate growth, expand market share, and execute strategic initiatives.
This role offers significant exposure to the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, transaction execution, portfolio management, and value creation. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams, gaining hands-on experience in evaluating and supporting investments within the consumer sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate investment opportunities across consumer products, food & beverage, health & wellness, beauty, personal care, and related sectors.
- Build detailed financial models and perform valuation analyses.
- Conduct industry research, market assessments, and competitive analyses.
- Participate in due diligence efforts, including management meetings, customer and market research, and third-party advisor coordination.
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and materials for internal investment committees.
- Assist in transaction execution, including structuring, negotiations, and closing processes.
- Monitor portfolio company performance and support strategic and operational initiatives.
- Work closely with management teams to identify growth opportunities and value creation strategies.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or a related investment role.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Interest in consumer products, branded consumer businesses, and retail-related sectors.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative investment environment.
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
