A leading private credit investment platform is seeking a Senior Associate to join its direct lending team in Dallas. This role offers exposure across the full investment lifecycle, including underwriting, execution, and active portfolio management of sponsor-backed middle-market transactions.
Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, leveraged finance, or related credit-focused role
- Strong financial modeling and credit analysis skills
- Experience with sponsor-backed transactions strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of capital structure, cash flow lending, and credit documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing investment memos or pitch materials
- Ability to manage multiple live transactions and portfolio responsibilities simultaneously
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Demonstrated interest in private credit / direct lending strategies
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support underwriting of new direct lending opportunities, including financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and credit structuring
- Perform in-depth due diligence on sponsor-backed borrowers, including financial statements, quality of earnings, industry dynamics, and management assessment
- Develop and maintain detailed credit models, including downside scenarios, leverage analysis, and covenant sensitivity testing
- Draft investment committee materials and credit memoranda for new investment opportunities
- Monitor portfolio companies, including performance tracking, covenant compliance, and ongoing credit surveillance
- Partner with sponsors and management teams on amendments, refinancings, and other portfolio management initiatives
- Assist with restructuring or workout situations as needed
- Track market activity across private credit, leveraged finance, and middle-market lending
