Sanitation Worker (Day & Night Shift)

Alessi Bakeries has been serving Tampa since 1912 and we are happy to announce that we are seeking to employ a full time Sanitation Worker (Night Shift). The Sanitation worker provides guidance to the Sanitation team under the direction of the Sanitation Lead to achieve full plant compliance with all personnel safety, food safety, sanitation/cleaning requirements pertaining to all federal, state and customer requirements and Alessi Bakeries food safety and manufacturing standards.

***This position requires working a flexible schedule/hours ranging from 4pm to 1am. ***

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

• Assist team with daily cleaning and maintenance of the plant.
• Prepare the plant for audits.
• Maintain records and logs, prepare periodic reports for review.
• Assure cleaning procedures are maintained and conduct departmental training.
• Ensure supply inventory is kept within budget guidelines.
• Working flexible schedule/hours.
• Assist with the planning of schedules and coordinating cleaning projects.
• Provide recommendations for improvements.
• Assist with the recycling and trash program.
• Comply with company rules and guidelines.
• Work using sanitation best practices.
• Adhere to and enforce regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Adhere to all safety requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma preferred
• Prior Supervisory Experience
• Knowledge of Safety, HACCP, GMP’s, and OSHA standards
• General knowledge of equipment operation within the baking industry
• General Knowledge of Sanitation and Cleaning
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Must be able to work flexible shift/hours

Language: Bilingual preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
