What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Manager position at Alcott School?
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Building Manager to keep our property running smoothly. This role is all about coordinating day-to-day operations, managing people and vendors, and making sure the building is safe, compliant, and well maintained.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, and general maintenance
- Oversee maintenance, security, and janitorial teams
- Manage vendors and service schedules
- Handle invoicing and basic financial tracking
- Ensure safety systems, emergency plans, and building codes are followed
- Support sustainability and green initiatives
What we’re looking for:
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Good problem-solver who stays calm under pressure
- Organized and able to juggle multiple priorities
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, fire safety, etc.)
- Experience in property or facility management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety standards
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
