Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor supervises the repair and maintenance of all Alcon buildings and mechanical equipment installed at Alcon. The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure timely installation and upkeep of the company’s property and systems in order to ensure operational effectiveness. This working Supervisor will lead the maintenance department while assisting with day-to-day maintenance operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes, operations and personnel.
- Track expenses and oversee the budget for maintenance.
- Maintain all machinery to ensure it is at working standards.
- Create and implement maintenance procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
- Plan and manage all repair and installation activities.
- Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
- Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
- Document and prepare daily progress reports and maintenance logs.
- Oversee equipment stock and place requisitions for new supplies when necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance.
- Previous Supervisorial experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical incline, knowledge of PM’s, welding and troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related degree from a technical college.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools including welding.
- Able to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Strong organizational and follow up skills and detail oriented.
- Able to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
- Able to bend, climb, and lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
