We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of foundry operations, including melting, pouring, shakeout, grinding, machining, and material handling areas
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk
- Assist with OSHA compliance activities, including recordkeeping (OSHA 300/300A/301)
- Support incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action tracking
Training & Employee Engagement
- Assist with new-hire safety orientation and refresher training
- Support delivery of safety training on PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, hazard communication, and machine guarding
- Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and toolbox talks
Program Support
- Maintain safety documentation, training records, and inspection logs
- Assist with PPE programs, including audits and proper use enforcement
- Support emergency response preparedness, including drills and equipment inspections
Collaboration
- Work closely with supervisors, production teams, and maintenance to address safety concerns
- Serve as a safety resource on the shop floor, providing real-time guidance and coaching
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or safety-related coursework preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or foundry environment
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial equipment
- Strong observational, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a foundry, metal casting, or heavy manufacturing environment
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Familiarity with PPE programs, incident investigations, and safety audit
