Job description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts and components. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to quality standards. Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining centers according to technical specifications and blueprints.
- Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and understand G-code commands for precise machining operations.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Operate auxiliary equipment including press brake machines, stamping presses, flexo presses, and fabrication tools as needed for material handling and assembly.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts for materials handling when necessary.
- Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment, and document production activities accurately.
Skills:
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines, lathes, and related machinery.
- Experience with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks for part design review and modifications.
- Familiarity with CAM programming for toolpath generation and machine setup.
- Ability to operate tooling equipment including press brakes, stamping presses, welding tools, and fabrication machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes including machining, fabrication, materials handling, packaging, assembly line operations, and welding.
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers for quality assurance.
