What are the responsibilities and job description for the COORDINATOR COORDINATED SCHOOL HEALTH (DATA, ACCOUNTABILITY, CQI) position at Albuquerque Public Schools?
Purpose: To provide leadership and coordination for the improvement, implementation, and evaluation of District’s Coordinated School Health (CSH) policy components and initiatives. Collaborates cross-departmentally and with all schools within APS. Brokers and maintains community-based partnerships in support of CSH components.
Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Provides program leadership, transformational coaching, technical assistance, professional development, and partnership coordination to: staff, school teams, schools, and families / community members, and community organizations, in support of CSH component efforts and within one or more focus areas.
- Leads, coordinates and supports respective projects and initiatives within the designated focus area.
- Coordinates the development, organization, implementation, monitoring and revision of various community and school-based programs, supports, services, initiatives and activities within the coordinated school health framework and department.
- Coordinates efforts to ensure that the expectations detailed in the District’s Coordinated School Health (CSH) policy are met.
- Coordinates short term and long-range planning, prioritizing, and activities (including assessments, evaluations, etc.) for District Coordinated School Health programs, services and resources
- Works with staff, school and community members to define, develop and implement ancillary programs, services and resources.
- Keeps informed about current legislation, literature, and research on coordinated school health related topics and issues.
- Gathers information, brokers and serves as a liaison between district and community resources.
- Participates in district and community collaboratives and/or task forces.
- Coordinates fiscal aspects of focus area related grants, including payroll and accounting, monitors and approves budget expenditures.
- Develops, aligns, monitors and supports CSH related programming utilizing a data informed decision making approach in partnership with both district level and community level partners.
- Develops, markets, and provides tools to support CSH component/department efforts.
- Provides leadership, technical assistance, partnership coordination and professional development in support of CSH component efforts.
- Provides community and family education and engagement support on CSH model focus areas as assigned.
- Provides other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Focus Area: ATTENDANCE / STUDENT SUCCESS SYSTEMS
- Researches, scales up, raises awareness of, and promotes student success systems and attendance best practice / strategies, and district and community supports, and aligns them with other school structures, processes, and priorities.
- Coordinates efforts to ensure the development, implementation, review, and evaluation of annual school attendance plans.
- Leads, coordinates, and supports Student Success Systems /Attendance and department projects and initiatives.
- Gathers and utilizes data to support equitable and targeted transformational coaching and technical assistance to and with in-district partners, school teams and to individual school staff.
- Provides support and communication to school student success systems / attendance teams, including outreach/recruitment of members, meeting facilitation, data tracking/evaluation, student success systems and attendance implementation and best practices, and the APS Tiered Approach to Attendance.
Focus Area: FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
- Conducts and promotes capacity building and leadership development of families, and strategies that foster effective school/family partnerships.
- Researches, develops, scales up, raises awareness of, promotes, and disseminates family engagement best practices/strategies/tools, training, and district and community supports.
- Leads, coordinates, and supports Family and Community Engagement and department projects and initiatives.
- Provides capacity building training, tools and resources to foster the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of school Volunteer Programs which are aligned with school goals.
Focus Area: DATA, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Leads, coordinates, and supports data gathering, basic analysis, packaging, and dissemination; accountability and continuous improvement processes and best practices; and department projects and initiatives.
- Coordinates processes and services that are based on best practices (including professional development and technical assistance) to staff/departments/schools in order to ensure: capacity to design and write viable grant/program proposals (based on needs assessment, data, and a defined theory of change); submission of applications (with targeted and aligned line item budgets); effective implementation and deliverables; tracking and evaluating outcomes and reporting; and continuous improvement.
- Provides technical assistance on how to gather, track, and utilize student, program, school, district, and community data effectively.
- Utilizes computer skills to effectively perform job functions (e.g. communication, recording and using data, maintaining records and databases, providing customer service, assisting with presentation development, etc.).

- Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and (5) years of experience in program development, implementation, and oversight in fields related to the CSH model OR
- Associate’s degree and nine (9) years of experience in education, health, social work, psychology, counseling, or fields related to the CSH model OR
- High School Diploma and twelve (12) years of experience in education, health, social work, psychology, counseling, or fields related to the CSH model.
- Experience in program development /management and community partnership development.
- Experience working with school community partnerships and/or collaborative projects.
