The Role

We are seeking a senior Labor and Employment Attorney to join our defense-side practice. This is a high-responsibility role for an attorney who is ready to take ownership of a sophisticated caseload, work directly with clients, and contribute to a firm that has built lasting institutional relationships over four decades.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues and have access to dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support. This is not a grind-and-bill role — it is a practice built on client relationships, strategic thinking, and quality work product.

What You'll Do

• Manage and litigate employment matters from inception through resolution, including DFEH/CRD and EEOC charges, PERB proceedings, wage and hour disputes, and employment-related civil litigation
• Advise public entity and corporate clients on HR compliance, employment agreements, workplace policies, and employee relations issues
• Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings
• Negotiate settlements and counsel clients on risk assessment and litigation strategy
• Serve as a trusted advisor on labor relations, employee benefits, and agency investigations

What We're Looking For

• Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing — required
• Minimum seven (7) years of substantive litigation experience in labor and employment law
• Demonstrated defense-side experience preferred; public entity or municipal experience a plus
• Familiarity with California wage and hour law, FEHA, PERB, and related regulatory frameworks
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Client-facing presence and the ability to counsel non-lawyers with clarity and confidence
• High integrity, self-direction, and the ability to manage a caseload with appropriate independence

Work Arrangement

This position is based in our downtown Los Angeles office. We are open to discussing hybrid arrangements with the right candidate, and we are happy to address work flexibility during the interview process.
