Beginning 2026-2027 school year.
6th Grade Science Teacher - instructs students in fundamental, age-appropriate science concepts using hands-on, inquiry-based learning, labs, and technology. They are responsible for creating lesson plans, assessing student progress, maintaining a safe, engaging classroom, and communicating with parents.
Key ResponsibilitiesDuties:- InstructionCurriculum: Develop, plan, and execute lesson plans aligned with state and national science standards, focusing on earth science, life science, or introductory physical science.
- Active LearningLabs: Implement hands-on activities and guide students through exploring, explaining, and elaborating on scientific concepts.
- SafetyManagement: Manage a safe classroom and laboratory environment, including the proper storage and usage of science materials.
- AssessmentEvaluation: Regularly assess student understanding through tests, quizzes, and projects to provide meaningful feedback.
- CommunicationCollaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and maintain proactive communication with parents, students, and staff.
- Mentorship: Support 6th graders in their transition to middle school, fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
