Summer Programs Classroom Enrichment Teacher (Kindergarten - Grade 2)
Program Dates: June 29 - August 7, 2026 (all 6 weeks required)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 4:00PM
Location: Albany Academy, 140 Academy Road, Albany, NY
Commitment: Full-time, 6 week commitment required
Overview
We are seeking experienced early childhood and elementary classroom teachers in our Rising K program and our Rising 1-2 programs offering fun and core skill building through hands-on discovery in all areas, with daily ELA and Math instruction woven into creative specials like STEM, art, dance, music, athletics, language, culture and more. Rising K has additional emphasis on building school-readiness skills. Both are multi-week programs.
We are looking for teachers who can create joyful, engaging classrooms that balance academic enrichment with crafts, games, movement, and outdoor play. You will be supported by specialty teachers throughout the week and have a full-time classroom counselor to assist you.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities with each two-week session theme
- Create a warm, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and confidence
- Collaborate with Summer Program staff to coordinate the weekly themes and special events
- Collaborate and support Specialty teachers during Specialty classes
- Support transitions, lunch and recess
- Serve as a role model and mentor to your classroom counselor
- Communicate effectively with the camp leadership team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Teaching experience with early childhood and/or elementary students
- Positive, flexible, team-oriented approach
- Commitment to the full 6-week program
Compensation:
$4600- $5500 for the full 6-week session, paid bi-weekly, commensurate with experience. Free Lunch is included.
Salary : $4,600 - $5,500
