Job Title: Director of Site and Support Services
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
Employment Type: Full-Time (12‑Month)
Position Overview
The Director of Site and Support Services is a senior leadership role, responsible for overseeing the operational efficiency, safety, and functionality of organizational facilities and support functions. This role ensures that all site operations—including facilities management, maintenance, security, environmental health and safety, and support services—are aligned with organizational goals and delivered with excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for site operations and support services.
- Align departmental objectives with organizational priorities and growth plans.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Facilities & Site Management
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and overall functionality of buildings, grounds, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage capital projects, renovations, and space planning initiatives.
Support Services Oversight
- Direct oversight of Maintenance, Grounds, Security and Custodial Services
- Ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery across all support areas.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Establish and enforce workplace safety programs and policies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
Budget & Resource Management
- Work with the CFO on a budget/projection, etc.
- Optimize resource allocation and vendor contracts to maximize value.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements are met.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee hiring, training, and performance management.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand and meet operational needs.
- Serve as a key point of contact for site-related issues and initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership on performance metrics and improvements.
Characteristics/Preferred Skills
- Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or multi-discipline maintenance.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in multi-site operations or large-scale facilities.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy management systems.
- Certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or similar is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in facilities, site operations, or support services management.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams and complex operations.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety standards, and facility systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site with regular interaction across facilities.
- May require occasional travel between locations.
- Availability for emergency response situations outside standard working hours.
