The Soccer Program
We offer a wide range of athletic opportunities for students starting in grade 7. Student athletes are expected to participate in multiple sports. Our coaches focus on the development of each individual student, and they are passionate about their sport and the school.
The key to our mission is preparing students for a successful college experience and the soccer team plays an integral role by developing the skills and values of teamwork, goal setting, leadership and sportsmanship. These values set our student athletes apart from other schools.
The Role
The JV Head Boys Soccer Coach is responsible, in collaboration with the Athletic Director and the Varsity Head Coach, for the success of the Boys’ JV soccer program.
Specific Duties Include:
Coach the Boy’s JV soccer team including daily, in-season, practices and off-season skill building sessions. Specific duties include:
- Conducting Practices: Design and lead daily practice sessions focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Game Preparation: Develop game plans, analyze opponents, and make in-game tactical decisions.
- Player Development: Assess individual and team performance, providing feedback to enhance skills and understanding of the game.
- Team Supervision: Oversee all team activities, ensuring a positive and disciplined environment.
- Mentorship: Serve as a role model, promoting sportsmanship, respect, and academic responsibility.
- Communication: Maintain regular contact with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team matters.
- Scheduling: Coordinate practice sessions, games, and transportation logistics with the Athletic Director.
- Equipment Management: Ensure proper maintenance and inventory of uniforms and gear.
- Compliance: Adhere to school policies, league rules, and safety protocols, including CPR/First Aid certification
- Recruitment: Identify and encourage potential players from feeder programs or lower grade levels.
- Collaboration: Work with the varsity coaching staff to align training and development goals across the program.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in coaching clinics and seek professional development opportunities
Experience
- Prior coaching experience required. Coaching of the sport of soccer preferred
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
- First Aid and CPR certification
- New York State harassment prevention certification
- Concussion management training

Reports to: Athletic Director
Stipend: $2,700/season
