What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zipline Manager position at Alaska Excursions?
Performs all aspects of the Zip Line Guide position. Responsible for assisting in the training and development of Zip Line Guides. Manages the daily and weekly operations of the Zip Line. Checks and monitors the course daily for any damage. Responsible for staff scheduling and resolving any employee or guest conflicts in the day-to-day operations or referring them to upper management when applicable. Ensures employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for ensuring our guests, employees, and animals experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime” and making sure this experience is extended to non-employees our staff member’s encounter
Monitors the safety of our guests at all times
Performs chores before, during, and after tours to include, but are not limited to, the following: cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash cans, stocking the refreshment area, chopping wood, and cleaning equipment
Daily safety check of the course and equipment
Assists guests getting into and out of all vehicles
Presents guests with quality, accurate information during the tour
Presents guests with safety information prior to starting the zip line
Ensures that guests are outfitted with the proper safety equipment
Guides guests through the course while maintaining the highest level of safety
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures employees adhere to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures and answers any questions or concerns employees or guests may have regarding policies and procedures
Relates employees’ job performance and conformance to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures and consistently provides feedback, both positive and negative, to employees and recommends appropriate action as needed to Upper Management
Assists in the training of employees in job performance and conformance to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures
Responsible for handling employee discipline issues and discussing job performance problems with employees to identify causes and concerns and to work on resolving them. In addition, is responsible for reporting performance concerns to Upper Management.
Provides employees with consistent feedback, both positive and negative, and recommends appropriate action as needed to Upper Management
Completes monthly evaluations on all staff members
Regularly attends manager meetings
Responsible for scheduling staff while keeping overtime to a minimum and adjusting the posted schedule as needed when daily tour numbers are received
Resolves guests’ concerns and/or complaints and provides employees with guidance in handling these issues as best as possible
Resolves any employee conflicts or situations that may arise and informs Upper Management when applicable
Responsible for the safety of guests, employees, and animals

Job Requirements
Certified or able to get certified in First Aid/CPR. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Legally eligible to work in the US. CDL or able to attain one. 21 years or older.
