Within this role the candidate will promote ACPL’s values and mission while following established policies and procedures. The purpose of this position is to serve the informational, reference and reading needs to library patrons of all ages at ACPL and will be expected to perform any and all tasks necessary to the operation of the library system. This position works under the supervision of the Branch Manager. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefited position requiring one evening per week and weekend rotation.

Essential Functions /Responsibilities- Perform regular public service duties, including staffing all service desks
- Acts as the person in charge in absence of the Branch Manager
- Responsible for the overall supervision of the circulation department
- Train and assist in preparing the daily deposit, ensuring procedures for printing, self-check and cash register funds are followed properly
- Prepare a weekly schedule and ensure smooth operations of service desks
- Manage all meeting rooms using LibCal
- Assist the Branch Manager in training of all new and existing staff
- Manage 6 library displays monthly, distributing equally amongst staff
- Assist in overseeing collection management and collection development
- Perform annual performance reviews and prepare monthly timesheets
- Assist in opening and closing the library using established procedures
- Participate in monthly LMT meeting
- Minimum of some college coursework required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One -Two (1-2) years of library, education, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations in community-facing roles strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
- Flexibility in scheduling is required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull loaded book carts and access materials on high and low shelves.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patrons and staff in a busy environment
