What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Career Services (Revised) position at Alabama State University?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance internship, employer engagement, and career placement programs
- Establish partnerships with employers, graduate schools, corporations, government agencies, and community organizations to expand opportunities for students and alumni
- Coordinate career fairs, recruitment activities, networking events, and professional development workshops
- Provide career coaching related to resumes, interviewing, graduate school preparation, and job search strategies
- Utilize labor market data to support planning and assessment
- Manage budgets, support student success initiatives, and ensure compliance with university policies and regulations.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in Career Services, Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, Workforce Development, or a related higher education setting, demonstrated experience in employer relations, career coaching, student development, program administration, and staff supervision, experience utilizing career management technologies, data analytics, and student success platforms preferred. Strong knowledge of labor market trends, workforce readiness strategies, and career development theory.
