Position Summary
Harmony Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor to serve as the spiritual leader and under shepherd of our church. We are seeking a godly man who is called by God, biblically sound, spiritually mature, and committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God.
The ideal candidate will love the Lord, love the church, care for the congregation, and lead with wisdom, patience, integrity, and compassion. He should be willing to serve both inside the church and throughout the surrounding community through pastoral care, visitation, outreach, and faithful leadership.
Position Type
This is a full-time pastoral position.
Biblical And Church Qualifications
In accordance with our church bylaws, the pastor shall be the spiritual leader of the church and shall be accountable to God as the under shepherd and answerable to the church.
The pastor shall be a man called of God and shall meet the biblical qualifications set forth in:
Desired Qualifications And Characteristics
The church is seeking a pastor who demonstrates the following qualities:
The church will consider each candidate’s education, ministry experience, preaching experience, denominational background, and doctrinal alignment with the church.
A seminary degree is preferred but not necessarily required, depending on the candidate’s ministry experience, doctrinal soundness, calling, and overall fit for the church.[RW2.1]
Candidates should be prepared to discuss their call to ministry, doctrinal beliefs, ministry experience, preaching background, and previous church service.
Primary Responsibilities
The pastor will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the church. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Compensation will be discussed with qualified candidates during the search process.
The compensation package will be developed in coordination with the appropriate church committees and will be based on the church budget, experience, qualifications, and ministry needs.

- A godly man with strong biblical convictions
- Biblically sound in preaching and teaching
- Able to preach effectively, not only teach
- Caring and compassionate toward the congregation
- Willing to visit church members, including the sick, homebound, and those in need
- Someone who genuinely loves the church and its people
- Patient and spiritually mature
- High energy and actively involved in the life of the church
- Willing and able to lead and encourage outreach efforts
- Able to handle church business meetings in a professional and Christlike manner
- Possesses good judgment, leadership ability, and practical business sense
- Able to lead with wisdom during difficult discussions or decisions
- Able to work with church leadership and congregation members in a spirit of unity

- Working with deacons, committees, and church leadership
- Moderating church business meetings
- Serving as an ex-officio member of church committees
- Helping establish and implement the ministries of the church
- Promoting unity, spiritual growth, and faithful service within the congregation
- Performing weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties as needed
