Akkodis is seeking a Vulnerability Remediation Engineer (ServiceNow) for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte, NC. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.
Rate Range: $50/hour to $55/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Overview
We are seeking a Vulnerability Remediation Engineer to join a newly formed team focused on strengthening enterprise-wide vulnerability management and patching practices. This role will act as a domain lead and subject matter expert, guiding application, operations, and engineering teams on how to effectively triage, track, and remediate security vulnerabilities using ServiceNow Vulnerability Management.
This is a highly collaborative role that blends vulnerability management expertise, ServiceNow knowledge, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement to enhance how vulnerabilities are handled across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead vulnerability remediation and patching efforts within an assigned domain
- Prepare teams and processes for transition and adoption of ServiceNow Vulnerability Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions related to vulnerability triage, tracking, and remediation
- Act as liaison between Application Teams, Operations, Engineering, and Information Security
- Provide guidance and support through existing technical support channels
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation in vulnerability management workflows
- Drive improvements in how vulnerabilities are prioritized, tracked, and resolved
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective remediation practices
- Support initiatives related to application production services and engineering security posture
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams to resolve or escalate vulnerability issues
- Contribute to strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of vulnerability remediation processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in vulnerability management and remediation practices
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Management (SecOps)
- Solid understanding of patching processes across applications and infrastructure
- Experience working with application teams, engineering teams, and security stakeholders
- Ability to triage vulnerability issues and perform root cause analysis
- Experience improving or automating security and remediation processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise or banking environments
- Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and collaboration
- Background in Application Production Services, Engineering, or Infrastructure security support
- Understanding of DevOps practices and solution delivery processes
