Threat Implementation Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Threat Implementation Engineer for a 1-year W2 remote contract position in Wilmington, DE.

Pay Range: $52.00 to $57.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Threat Implementation Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Support Cybersecurity Release & Deployment and Lifecycle Management Refresh initiatives, including new security system deployments and hardware/software upgrades for end-of-life or non-permitted technologies.
• Lead technical planning, deployment sequencing, logistics, and risk mitigation to ensure security implementations are completed on schedule with minimal impact to the network.
• Partner with Security Architecture, Design Engineering, and technology teams to implement and integrate new Threat and Cybersecurity technologies.
• Support enterprise Threat platforms, including Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway, F5 SSLO, Trellix/FireEye, and Blue Coat ProxySG/Secure Web Gateway.
• Maintain accurate project closeout documentation, database updates, asset tracking, inventory records, and related system/process updates.
• Analyze evolving business and technical requirements and develop Threat solutions aligned with security, infrastructure, and business needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, operational processes, and overall implementation effectiveness.
• Manage multiple technical projects, priorities, and deadlines while working independently and collaboratively across technical teams.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on engineering experience with enterprise Threat solutions in large-scale or financial environments.
• Strong engineering experience with Threat platforms, including design, low-level engineering, deployment, operation, and optimization of hardware and software solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Skyhigh Secure Web Gateway, F5 SSLO, Trellix/FireEye, and Blue Coat ProxySG/Secure Web Gateway.
• Strong understanding of DMZ networking, secure network segmentation, and Cisco routing/switching.
• Experience leading technical planning, risk mitigation, and deployment sequencing for complex cybersecurity implementations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to follow established processes with strong attention to detail while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ability to take ownership of deliverables, proactively escalate risks, and support high-impact projects.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required to support change and deployment activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred.
• Security or networking certifications preferred, including ISC2 CISSP.
• Previous banking or financial services experience highly preferred.
• UNIX/Linux administration experience is highly desirable.
• Programming/scripting experience with Shell (sh), Perl, Python, Golang, C, or C is a plus.
• Additional experience with automation, DevOps practices, production support, application development, risk management, solution design, and solution delivery processes is preferred.
