Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a QA Automation Engineer for a 6-month contract role with a client in Hartford, CT.

To be considered, candidates must have hands-on experience in QA automation, programming, and test framework development, ideally within the healthcare domain. This role involves building and executing automated test scripts, validating system functionality, and supporting high-quality software delivery in Agile environments.

Pay Range: $54 - $56/hr. (The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

QA Automation Engineer job responsibilities include:

· Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

· Utilize automation tools including Hammer On Demand and Selenium to support end-to-end testing.

· Collaborate with Agile/Scrum teams throughout the SDLC to ensure high-quality releases.

· Participate in CI/CD processes and manage automation code using Git or similar version control systems.

· Perform defect analysis, document findings, and work closely with development teams on remediation.

· Ensure testing activities adhere to HIPAA and healthcare workflow requirements.

· Support BDD/TDD methodologies incorporating tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow.

Desired Qualifications:

· 3 years of experience in QA automation and software testing.

· Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.

· Hands-on experience with Hammer On Demand and Selenium.

· Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and QA best practices.

· Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems such as Git.

· Knowledge of BDD (Cucumber/SpecFlow) and TDD testing frameworks.

· Strong functional, regression, integration, and performance testing background.

· Healthcare domain knowledge with familiarity of HIPAA compliance.

· Strong analytical, communication, and cross-team collaboration abilities.

Preferred:

· Experience testing Conversational AI, chatbots, or voice-based virtual assistants.

· Familiarity with AI model evaluation metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score.

· Experience with Agentic IDEs (e.g., Windsurf, Cursor) for building and optimizing automation scripts.

· Experience with API testing (REST, SOAP).

· Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or IBM Cloud.
