Akkodis is looking for a full-time onsite Linux System Administrator to join our client in a technology‑driven manufacturing environment focused on developing advanced systems that integrate software, automation, and real‑time data processing. The organization emphasizes rapid innovation, high‑reliability production processes, and modern software-driven workflows that support complex operational needs.
Pay Range: $40.00-50.00/Hourly; Benefits and additional compensation
Shift: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Workweek: 4x10 (Monday–Thursday)
Responsibilities
- Respond quickly to production system interruptions to maintain operational continuity.
- Troubleshoot Linux OS issues, hardware connectivity problems, and networking faults.
- Partner with engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Maintain and improve troubleshooting guides, knowledge bases, and workflow documentation.
- Assist in developing scripts, tools, or process improvements to reduce recurring issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Linux experience in support or troubleshooting roles.
- Proficiency with Bash, plus familiarity with Python for automation or diagnostics.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and system-level analysis.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to a varied audience.
- Experience supporting systems in high‑uptime environments (manufacturing, robotics, IoT, cloud, etc.).
- Comfortable working in cross-functional technical teams.
- Willing to work designated shift hours and periodic overtime.
- Experience with robotics, industrial equipment, or Linux-based embedded systems.
- Personal or hobbyist experience with automation or electronics (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi).
- Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting such as cabling, connectors, or pinouts.
- Experience building or maintaining operational documentation and SOPs.
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems or environments requiring high availability.
- Strong interest in analyzing logs, troubleshooting complex issues, and creating tooling to streamline workflows.
