HIRING MANAGER’S NOTES:

• We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer/Developer who can also function as a Project Lead when necessary for our Wixom, MI office. This is a strategic contract to hire position.
• They should be well versed in a variety of software programming languages which can be found in the job description. Most crucial would be a strong .NET/C# background. This person will work on internal products as well as projects for external customers. They need to have strong communication skills because they will be customer facing for many projects. If they have experience with business development, proposals, or quoting that would be a huge .
• Although they will act as Project Lead for some projects they are not a "Manager" and will not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.
• Looking for at least 7 years of relevant experience and a stable work history.
• Experience working in manufacturing/automotive is preferred and someone who has worked for an engineering services company like ours is also a .

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Analyze user requirements and design documents
• Design, develop, and test software
• Review existing code
• Development of web based applications
• Able to travel to customer sites as needed
• Function in a team to meet customer needs and tight deadlines within budget
• May serve as a project lead by overseeing the technical execution of software initiatives from concept through delivery.
• This includes defining architectural approaches, breaking down complex requirements into actionable development plans, and ensuring high quality implementation across the engineering team.
• As a project lead, the engineer manages timelines, anticipates risks, coordinates cross-functional dependencies, and ensures that project goals, quality standards, and performance expectations are consistently met.

REQUIREMENTS:

• MSCS/BSCS or related 4-year degree
• 7 years of software development experience
• Software: .NET, C#, ASP.NET, VB, SQL Server/Data Structure, Java, or Python
• Web based application, UI design and development: JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, React.js, HTML, CSS, AJAX
• Experience with integrating backend Web APIs/RESTful APIs and WinForms
• 3 years of agile development technical team leadership
• Prior project lead/management experience is a plus. It is also preferred to have customer facing experience.
• Must be able to work alone and/or within a team
• Must be able to engage with customer in a professional manner and have strong written and verbal communication skills

HIGHLY DESIRED (NOT required):

• Exposure to SCADA software such as Ignition or related is highly preferred
• Mobile development for iOS and Android is a plus
• A strong mathematical/algorithm building background is very helpful
• Any Microsoft or Azure certifications
• Industry experience in: Manufacturing or Automotive (preferred), industrial, mechanical, mechatronics, robotics or related systems engineering
