Akkodis is seeking a Assembler for a 6 Contract position with a client located in Suwanee, GA
Pay Range: $20/hr - $21/hr (The rate may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Position Responsibilities
The primary role of this position is to perform mechanical assembly of various precision assemblies of Reflector products, including back structures and stands. The Mechanical Technician – Reflector position involves the assembly and installation of a low volume, high technology, high variation product mix, produced in a project driven, build-to-order production working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fasten components or parts together, using hand tools, structural adhesives, torque wrenches, and welding equipment.
- Positions and aligns components for assembly, manually or utilizing various material handling tools and equipment.
- Read assembly blueprints, schematics, and specification manuals, and assist with assembly, rework, repair and safe lifting and movement of delicate heavy products.
- Clean materials as required to allow proper adhesion of paints and glues.
- Inspect and test parts and accessories for leakage, defects, or functionality, using electronic, optical, and mechanical test equipment.
- Set and verifies clearance of parts.
- Set-up and installation of back structures, stands, reflector panels and associated products.
- Verify conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and indicators.
- Lay-out, drill, ream, tap and cut parts for assembly.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance per instructions and update checklists.
- Examine parts upon M.O. receipt and during build for defects such as improper fit, breakage and excessive wear.
- Fabrication of panels and structures, requiring material cutting, clamping, gluing, lifting, and painting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, Associates degree desirable
- 2 years minimum of machine building / assembly experience or a combination of applicable course work and job experience.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. MIG and TIG Welding capabilities.
- Set-up and operation of metalworking equipment such as milling, drilling, turning, and grinding machinery to shape or fabricate parts.
- Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering background desirable.
