Akkodis is seeking a QA Automation / Quality Engineer for a Contract with a client in New York, NY. The ideal candidate with deep expertise in testing backend services, APIs, web, and mobile applications, leveraging modern automation frameworks and design patterns.
Rate Range: $37/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $45.00 per hour

Requirements

QA Automation / Quality Engineer Job Responsibilities Include
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for backend services, RESTful APIs, web frontend, and native mobile applications using modern tools and design patterns (TDD, BDD, POM).
- Create comprehensive test plans, strategies, and test cases, ensuring high levels of automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to drive quality improvements, support unit testing, review user stories, and ensure completeness, scalability, and security of requirements.
- Conduct application security testing and validate solutions deployed on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Act as a Quality Engineering SME by defining testing standards, mentoring team members, and championing best practices such as clean code, TDD/BDD, and risk‑based testing approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 years of hands‑on experience in Software Quality Assurance and Automation across frontend and backend systems.
- Expertise in automation frameworks and tools such as WebdriverIO, Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, MochaJS, and Postman.
- Strong experience testing backend services (Node.js preferred), RESTful APIs, frontend web apps, and native mobile applications.
