Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers accurately, handling retail sales transactions with speed and precision
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Manage cash drawer handling, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times
- Upsell products and suggest add-on items to enhance customer purchases and increase sales volume
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits of merchandise
- Stock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain an attractive store presentation and ensure product availability
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or through other communication channels
- Assist in merchandising efforts by arranging displays and ensuring store cleanliness and organization
Skills
- Proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems for smooth transaction processing
- Previous retail sales experience, especially in grocery or similar environments, is highly desirable
- Strong cashiering skills with basic math proficiency for accurate cash register operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
- Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and stock management techniques
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash handling responsibilities responsibly and accurately
- Customer service expertise with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or retail math enhances overall performance
