What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Technology High School Instructor position at AIS CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT?
AIS Construction Equipment is the oldest Michigan owned and operated heavy equipment company in the state and has been serving customers for over 60 years. We are looking for a full-time heavy equipment instructor to join our team. The purpose of this position is to provide education and training to students interested in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics. This is an in-person position at Center Line High School.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a teaching and learning classroom environment
- Present lecture and lab instruction in the areas of hydraulics, electrical, engines, HVAC, diagnostics, plus machine-specific instruction on equipment such as excavator, dozer, grader, etc.
- Practice and teach proper shop safety/procedures
- Develop a working relationship with school personnel, industry partners and community
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- College degree and/or related industry experience
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Certified in construction class instruction is preferred (C.D.I.)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to teach/coach/lead students in an instructional setting
- Forward thinking, computer literate, and able to communicate effectively
- Able to pass a background screening and drug test
