Job Description:
Automotive Technology Teacher Assistant to support instruction in our high school automotive program. This role involves assisting the lead teacher in delivering hands-on automotive training, maintaining a safe and organized lab environment, and helping students develop both technical and workplace readiness skills.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in the automotive field (preferred)
- Enrolled in an education program with a minimum of 9 credits per semester (preferred)
- High school diploma at minimum
- Understanding of basic computer equipment and Microsoft Software
- Ability to walk, bend, and lift to 50 pounds.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, work efficiently on repetitive tasks, handle equipment delicately
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to carry out instruction in written and oral form.
- Basic Skills/Work Keys (Basic Math skills)
- Basic understanding of automotive equipment, machines, and tools
Certifications:
- Automotive State, Mechanical Certification or ASE Certification (preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Discusses assigned duties with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Prepares lesson materials, equipment, and demonstrations.
- Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teacher.
- Tutors and assists students individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and reinforce concepts presented by the teacher.
- Supervises students in the classroom or automotive lab and enforces shop safety.
- Conducts demonstrations to teach skills.
- Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.
- Instructs and monitors students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries and damage.
- Observes student performance and collaborates with teacher to discuss student progress.
- Attends staff meeting.
- Serves on the CTE Advisory Board with the teacher of record.
- Maintains equipment in the auto/engineering lab.
- Performs other duties assigned by the CTE director/principal.
Salary : $16 - $20
