The Sales Development & Marketing Manager leads the Company’s sales development and marketing functions to drive revenue growth and new business opportunities. This role oversees the BDR and marketing teams, developing strategies to generate qualified leads, build pipeline, strengthen customer engagement, and support Airline’s business unit growth priorities. The manager partners with sales leadership, business unit leaders, and product management to translate target markets, capabilities, and commercial goals into coordinated sales development and marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Business Development Representative team, setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing coaching.
- Develop and execute sales development strategies focused on target accounts, new leads, qualified opportunities, and pipeline growth.
- Oversee outbound prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and customer outreach.
- Establish qualification criteria to evaluate prospects and customers, prioritize continued investment, and recommend the appropriate coverage path: Outside Sales, TSA, House Account, or continued Business Development.
- Lead the marketing function, aligning campaigns and resources with sales priorities and business growth objectives.
- Oversee digital marketing, content, trade shows, events, and campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.
- Partner with sales leadership to identify target markets, customer segments, growth opportunities, and expansion priorities.
- Work with Airline business unit leaders to develop business-unit growth plans, target accounts, lead-generation strategies, and market-development initiatives.
- Translate business unit capabilities, strategic vendor offerings, target industries, and value propositions into focused prospecting campaigns, content, and sales tools.
- Ensure effective handoff and follow-up of qualified opportunities across the sales organization.
- Drive CRM and marketing-tool discipline to ensure accurate lead data, activity tracking, and pipeline reporting.
- Coordinate with product management and sales to develop materials that strengthen customer engagement and support growth initiatives.
- Manage departmental priorities and resources in support of the Company’s growth objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Sales, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in sales development, business development, marketing, or a related commercial role.
- Experience managing or leading sales development representatives, marketing personnel, or similar teams.
- Experience developing lead generation strategies, managing sales pipelines, and supporting revenue growth.
- Knowledge of B2B sales and marketing strategies, including outbound prospecting, digital marketing, and lead qualification.
- Experience supporting multiple business units, product groups, or vertical markets and adapting sales development and marketing programs to distinct growth priorities.
- Experience with CRM systems, sales reporting, and marketing tools.
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with sales leadership and cross-functional teams.
