What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Distribution Production Planner position at AIRLINE HYDRAULICS CORPORATION?
The Power Distribution Production Planner oversees material flow, shop scheduling, and coordination with purchasing and logistics to ensure timely delivery and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include managing inventory, approving timecards, tracking production metrics, and expediting orders as needed. The role requires strong interdepartmental communication, proficiency in business systems and Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently or in teams. The Power Distribution Production Planner reports to the Power Distribution Foreman.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Handle all material flow, pull tickets, etc.
- Operate forklift equipment to move, load, and organize materials safely and efficiently.
- Order all shop supplies, including fittings, electrical supplies, raw stock, paint, etc.
- Hand out all Job materials to shop personnel. Re-verifying correct P/N and quantity
- Daily review of shop schedule to ensure we are meeting our acknowledged commitment to customers.
- Daily review of shop schedule and coordination with Purchasing to ensure delivery of materials are on schedule to the agreed delivery date
- Approve timecards for floor personnel and verify in the P21 MRP System.
- Coordinate shipping schedule with the customer’s logistics representative.
- Track production efficiency, on-time delivery, and other production metrics as needed
- Provide staffing and scheduling data upon request
- Keep a clean and organized work area
- Expedite orders as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be proficient with MS Excel and Word
- Must be able to develop a working knowledge of the business system
- Familiarity with controls and electrical products is a plus
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively interdepartmentally
- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
