Production Planner About Us: Griff Paper and Film, which is part of The Griff Network, is a manufacturer and distributor with a broad portfolio of paper and plastic products, often specialized films and papers. We also offer extensive converting services like coating, laminating, metallization, and custom slitting. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries, including: Automotive, Aerospace, Food & Beverage, Medical, Packaging (e.g., tape, label, containers), Construction and Building, Graphics and Signage, Renewable Energy (e.g., photovoltaic films). Some of the specific materials and product lines we are known for include: Films: We offer various types of films, such as polyester (PET), polypropylene (OPP/BOPP), polyethylene (LDPE, MDPE, HDPE), polystyrene, and acrylic film, often with coatings or specialized features. Decorative Films: These are a specialized line of graphic films, often made from eco-friendly PVC, that come in iridescent, metallic, holographic, lens, and textured finishes (like carbon fiber or brushed metal) for signage, displays, and packaging. Release Liners: We manufacture silicone release liners for all types of adhesive, rubber, and sealant products. Specialty Papers: This includes graphic papers (like C1S litho and synthetic paper), food-grade papers (like parchment), and technical papers. Laminates: We create specialized laminates, such as paper/film/paper products, and other combinations for strength, durability, and specific barriers. Essentially, we provide materials, often customized with coatings and laminations, that solve specific material and application challenges for other manufacturers. Job Summary: The Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of manufacturing operations by effectively planning, coordinating, and monitoring production activities. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production schedules, managing material requirements, and ensuring timely availability of resources to meet customer demands. The Production Planner serves as a liaison between the production floor, warehouse, quality control, and customer service to ensure orders are completed on time and in full. Key Responsibilities: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure timely procurement of materials for upcoming jobs. Review incoming materials and confirm that purchase orders are generated for any required stock or job-specific materials. Track all jobs awaiting material availability, including oversight of "Griff POs" for inbound supply monitoring. Work closely with warehouse staff and quality control (QC) to confirm timely and compliant material pulls for production jobs. Coordinate interplant material transfers in partnership with the Senior Warehouse Clerk as needed. Attend and participate in daily production meetings, and serve as a lead contributor or facilitator as needed. Communicate any delays, shortages, or issues impacting the production schedule. Provide accurate and timely updates to Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) and the sales team regarding order status, timing, and any changes. Adjust order dates and job scheduling in response to asset availability or production capacity constraints. Build, manage, and track the GAL coating schedule, ensuring alignment of: materials for live (customer) orders and stock materials to maintain adequate inventory levels for recurring needs. Monitor and ensure timely release of blanket orders to meet ongoing demand and due dates. Regularly assess the material pull queue and production readiness to prevent delays or downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Maintain accurate production records and schedules to support reporting and operational planning. Skills & Competencies: Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multip e priorities. Effective communicator, able to collaborate across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and planning software. Understanding of BOMs, job travelers, and materials management. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands. Job Type: Full Time, In-Office Monday through Friday
