Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues.
- Install new HVAC equipment following manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct plumbing and refrigeration work as needed to support HVAC operations.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair or modify mechanical components.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all service activities; operate
drivers for transportation of equipment or parts. - Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and parts used for each job.
- Support property maintenance efforts by addressing appliance repair needs and performing general mechanical tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems.
- Assist in diagnosing electrical issues using schematics and mechanical knowledge to restore system functionality efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC, refrigeration, or property maintenance roles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and appliance servicing.
- Familiarity with construction processes related to HVAC system installation and building schematics.
- Experience working with HVAC design plans and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable.
- Field service experience involving air conditioning units, ammonia refrigeration systems, or HVAC/R equipment is preferred.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters confidently; experience with plumbing and refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Mechanic experience or certifications related to HVAC or refrigeration systems will set you apart as a candidate ready to excel in this energetic role.
