Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to all regulatory standards within our aviation operations. This role involves managing compliance programs related to FAA CFR part 135, TSA, CBP, OSHA, DOT, employment regulations, and other industry-specific requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in organizing and tracking training for approximately 70 employees, organizational skills, with a focus on maintaining safety, efficiency, and regulatory reporting accuracy across our aircraft operations. This position offers an opportunity to lead risk management initiatives and develop comprehensive compliance strategies that support operational excellence. This position will collaborate and share tracking and training duties with the company Director of Safety, Director of Training, Chief Pilot, and Controller.
This is a new position formed due to the company growth needs. An ideal candidate will have experience working in the private aviation part 135 environment. Experience working at or closely with the FAA is desirable.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs aligned with FAA, TSA, CBP, regulations, and industry standards.
- Actively work with training department to verify all pilot and aircraft mechanic training is completed, tracked, and uploaded timely.
- Lead manual revisions and updates to match company policies.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements accurately and timely to maintain compliance documentation
- Oversee the company DOT drug/alcohol program and keep accurate records for audits.
- Lead risk management efforts by identifying potential compliance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct regular audits of operational procedures related to aircraft pilot and mechanic training
- Prepare detailed applications for Letters of Authorization issued by the FAA and maintain these LOA's
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance policies, safety protocols, and regulatory updates.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to stay current on evolving regulations affecting aviation operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in aviation compliance management or a related field within compliance training or transportation sectors.
- Strong knowledge of FAA standards, TSA regulations, and industry-specific regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain management, freight operations, and fleet oversight.
- Demonstrated ability in regulatory reporting and report writing for compliance documentation and audit preparation.
- Expertise in risk management practices related to aviation safety and operational integrity.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective report writing, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
- Relevant certifications in compliance management or aviation safety are preferred but not required. This role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory adherence within our aviation operations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
