The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is hiring a Supervisory Youth Program Specialist (Assistant Flight Chief), GS-1701-12, at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, San Antonio, TX.
Primary Purpose of the Position: Serves as the Assistant Flight Chief and second-in-command of the Child and Youth Services Flight, providing direct oversight of School Age and Youth Programs. Plans, directs, and evaluates youth development programs; supervises Senior Leader Program Managers and program staff; manages appropriated and nonappropriated fund budgets; ensures compliance with DoD, Air Force, and national accreditation standards; builds community partnerships with military families and installation leadership; and ensures continuity of care during contingency operations.

- Knowledge of youth development principles, practices, and program management sufficient to plan, direct, and evaluate multi-site youth programs

- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a diverse workforce of program managers and youth development professionals
- Ability to manage budgets supporting large-scale program operations
