The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full time Security Specialist (GG-0080-13), working at the 67th Cyberspace Wing (CW) Security Office, Joint Base San Antonio, Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), San Antonio, Texas.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
Salary ($108,001 - $140,403) based on experience.
Moving expenses may be available based on experience.

Qualifications/Requirements
In this position you will serve as a 67 CW Security Office (SO) security specialist to protect the enterprise from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to enterprise and enterprise mission interests, national defense or national security.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret” Security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI)
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
This position requires at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional, Security Asset Protection Professional, & Physical Security Certifications within 2 years of the initial assignment of duties.

- Knowledge of a wide range of advanced concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involved in security.
- Knowledge of security program interrelationships to coordinate the objectives and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
- Skill to interpret a variety of security program laws, directives, regulations, and guidance to assist subordinate organizations in establishing and operating internal security programs.
- Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
