The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Operations Research Systems Analyst, GS-1515-14, to serve as an Operations Research Analyst for North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Command and the United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Logistics and Engineering Directorate (J4), Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), Colorado.
Salary range: $129,096 – 167,830 based on experience.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- This position is designated by the Air Force as a testing designated position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program and is subject to random drug testing.
- Knowledge of advanced data science techniques, operations research methods, and statistical analysis as they apply to military operations.
- Skill in developing and implementing mathematical models, simulations, and algorithms for complex problem-solving.
- Ability to collect, process, and analyze large datasets to support strategic decision-making.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings effectively, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
- Skill in using data visualization tools and software to present data insights clearly and effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and lead projects that involve stakeholders from multiple organizations.
- Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes Cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Per Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2)., requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of these requirements may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to achieve and maintain the proper Cyberspace Qualification may result in removal from this position.
- Employee is subject to random Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph (Poly) screenings as a condition of employment. Failure to submit to a CI-Poly will result in debrief from all SAPs and removal from the position.
- May be required to perform Battle Roster functions during Exercises and Real-World events. Battle Roster functions may include but are not limited to the Joint Operations Center (JOC), Future Operations Center (FOC), Future Plans Center (FPC), Joint Logistics Operations Center (JLOC), N&NC Deployment and Distribution Operations Center (NDDOC), Joint Intelligence Operations Center-North (JIOC-N), Joint Cyber Center (JCC), and other tasks as assigned. These duties may require additional duty hours and/or a physical/medical assessment to deploy to alternate duty locations (non-combat) or in-place. The physical/medical assessment is not a pre-employment requirement.
- Employee may be required to work and/or be “on call” after normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends or holidays and is subject to short- or no-notice recall to duty during exercises, crises, or contingencies.
- Employee may be required to perform Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) associated with contract work to accomplish Assessments activities.
- Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
