The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Section Chief, Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), GS-221012, located at the 805th Combat Training Squadron, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, NV.
Salary Rate: $91,000 – 103,000
Depending on the type of position you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position, you will serve as a supervisory Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and as the squadron commander’s senior technical advisor for Cyber Security. Manages all aspects of the 805th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) cybersecurity program across multiple platforms and classification levels to include; US, Coalition, Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and Mission Partner Environment (MPE). Manages Risk Management Framework (RMF) and communications-computer security (COMPUSEC) programs across the squadron’s cybersecurity terrain. Providing planning, directing, organizing, and oversight over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Cyber Security Team/Project Management Team.

- A non-disclosure agreement must be signed
- This is a drug testing designated position
- This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement; therefore having a knowledge of DoD 8570 01-M, and other IA policies and laws is required.
- Knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods, and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.
- Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
- Knowledge of the latest advancements in technology to initiate corrective or preventative action to ensure optimum performance of the system. Knowledge of new or revised policies, practices, and technical management guidelines to provide advisory services, consultation, and technical assistance.
- Information Assurance (IA) Certification is a condition of employment. Information assurance (IA) work is a paramount duty requirement Per DoD 8570 01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within two months of assignment of these duties. Position requires DoD IAM Level II or higher baseline certification (CAP, GSLC, CISM, CISSP). Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
