In this position you will serve as a CAD Manager/GIS Tech: CAD (Computer Aided Drafting)/Geographic Information System (GIS) technician for the development, management, and maintenance of the 75 CEG enterprise GIS, technical drawing and modeling systems. You will apply comprehensive, practical knowledge and skills in mapping and related sciences, as well as relevant mathematics and statistics, to plan, design, research, develop, construct, evaluate, and modify GIS, CAD, and modeling systems. You will develop products and techniques in support of the 75 CEG enterprise GIS, technical drawing and modeling systems.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills And Abilities

• 1. Thorough knowledge of cartographic and CAD drafting techniques and procedures used in electronic and hard copy map, 2D and 3D engineering drawing production. Ability to modify standard practices and adapt equipment or techniques to solve a variety of cartographic problems.
• 2. Thorough knowledge of CAD and GIS applications software including AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and ArcGIS Pro.
• 3. Knowledge of database management principles and practices. Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcGIS with skill in designing, organizing, and managing diverse digital databases as related to CAD/GIS. Experience with one or more relational database systems such as MS SQL, Oracle, MS Access.
• 4. Extensive knowledge of theories, principles, practices, and application of CAD, GIS and GPS technology. Ability to relate CAD/GIS technology to disciplines such as community planning, engineering, construction, cartography, geography, land survey, and natural resource sciences.
• 5. Skill in working with complex teams of technical experts and computer end users and the ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• 6. Ability to apply knowledge of current automated information systems and practices to development of enterprise GIS, technical drawing, and modeling systems. Ability to apply systems analysis and design methodologies.
• 7. Ability to deal tactfully, cooperatively and diplomatically with others.
• 8. Technical knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and techniques in the measurement or determination of distances, elevations, areas, angles, land boundaries and other features of the earth's surface.
• 9. Skill in sufficiently planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the production of a variety of maps and visual aids involving both manual and automated production operations and support services.
