Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery used in the production process. This role ensures that equipment runs efficiently and safely while producing high-quality components according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery according to established procedures and safety standards
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine production requirements
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from standards
- Perform routine quality checks using measuring tools and instruments
- Adjust machine settings to optimize performance and ensure product quality
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
- Assist in inventory management and report material shortages or equipment issues
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
- Basic math skills and ability to use measuring tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers)
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25lbs; occasionally up to 50lbs
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for operating machinery and inspecting products
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and varying temperatures
- May occasionally be exposed to outdoor conditions depending on facility layout
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
