We are currently seeking a Probate Litigation Legal Assistant to join our Probate Litigation Group in our downtown Houston office. This is a 100% in-office position supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced litigation practice.
We are looking for a candidate with 3 years of litigation legal assistant experience, preferably with exposure to probate litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing court filings, e-filing in state, federal, and probate courts, managing attorney calendars, organizing case files, and providing high-level administrative and litigation support while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support multiple attorneys within the Probate Litigation Group.
- Draft, proofread, edit, and redline correspondence, memos, pleadings, engagement letters, and other legal documents.
- Prepare, organize, and file pleadings, discovery, memoranda, and other court documents.
- E-file documents with state, federal, and probate courts.
- Maintain electronic case files and document management systems, including organizing files within NetDocs.
- Open new client matters and perform conflict checks.
- Maintain attorney calendars, client contacts, and case deadlines.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, video conferences, conference calls, and presentation materials.
- Provide administrative and litigation support while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Perform additional legal assistant and administrative duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant in a law firm environment.
- Probate litigation experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and probate court rules and filing procedures.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience working with document management systems, preferably NetDocs.
- Excellent proofreading, editing, organizational, and time management skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to anticipate attorney needs, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
