POSITION OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial litigation experience, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and the ability to independently manage matters while collaborating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
- Draft motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies in complex commercial disputes
- Regularly communicate with clients regarding case developments, strategy, and status updates
- Attend court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
- Assist with electronic discovery management and document review utilizing litigation support platforms, including Relativity or similar systems
- Collaborate closely with partners and litigation teams on case strategy and client service initiatives
- Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development and referral efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial litigation experience
- Strong experience with depositions, motion practice, discovery, and court appearances
- Experience using electronic discovery platforms such as Relativity preferred
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong academic credentials and professional references preferred
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload from beginning to end
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
